Market Research | Interceptor

Discuss.IO announces the release of Interceptor, a browser-based scheduling tool designed for qualitative market research. Interceptor allows researchers to recruit live webcam respondents from surveys, social media and market research online communities (MROCs). Researchers simply define when they are available to conduct interviews and add a link to their survey or social media page. Interceptor automatically manages scheduling, logistics, and incentive management. Each respondent will answer screening questions including a video response question using their webcam. Video responses are available in advance of the interview session for review by the researcher. This ensures that researchers are interviewing high quality articulate respondents.

Discuss.IO also provides free transcriptions of video-recorded market research discussions. The recorded video is accessible from within the client’s Discuss.IO account approximately one hour after the research interview is concluded. The keyword-searchable text transcript of the session is synchronized to the video transcript. The playhead automatically jumps to the corresponding section in the video when you click on a word or phrase in the transcript. This makes it easy to locate and create clips of a particular portion of the research session. Within our ClipMaker tool, video clips may be sequenced together into video highlight reels which can be shared or downloaded for presentations.
According to Discuss.IO founder Zach Simmons, “The fundamental problem with real time focus groups and IDIs is that 95% of audience is acquired in a back and forth, manual process which leads to errors and more costly sampling. By developing Discuss.IO to be agile and adaptable, we are able to harness the right audiences precisely at the moment our clients need them.”
At a fraction of the cost of traditional online alternatives or in-person interviews, Discuss.IO webcam discussions are a powerful, quick, and affordable way to deliver direct, nuanced consumer insights. Jim Longo, Discuss.IO founder, said, “current vendors offer scheduling services as expensive add-ons costing thousands per project. We are providing Interceptor as a free solution to the challenges of tighter budget constraints and shorter deadlines.”
