For this month’s profile, we talked with Jilleun Eglin, Senior Director of Product, who joined the Discuss team in October 2021 and is based out of Denver, Colorado.
- Tell our readers a little bit about your role at Discuss.
As the Senior Director of Product at Discuss, my role revolves around shaping our product vision, bringing it to life, and ensuring it meets the evolving needs of researchers while driving business growth and customer satisfaction. I am continuously working with people across our company from Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Operations and Finance and engaging with our customers daily. - Which of Discuss’ core values are you most inspired by? (Empathize, Collaborate, Obsess, Out Innovate, Excel)
I am most inspired by two of our core values. First is to Out Innovate. As a Product Leader, I’m passionate about innovation and dedicated to discovering the solutions that are better, faster, and more creative. And second is Obsess, I always strive to understand others and their experiences. I love talking with our users and learning about what they love, their use cases and how we can solve their problems. - Tell us about your team and the mindset (and approach) you’re instilling.
The Product Team here at Discuss is a dedicated and curious group of people focused on Product Management, UX Design and Product Marketing. I love the energy of our team and how well we all collaborate together. Our team lives by an outside-in approach – we stay close to our users, industry trends, and strive to understand the biggest challenges in our space and bring those into our product strategy and solutions. - What project or initiative are you most proud of at Discuss?
Recently we launched Genie, our generative AI technology. The value of generative AI across qualitative research is truly exciting and bringing the first of Genie to market was one I’m proud of. The process from the start has been a fun challenge; talking with customers about their biggest challenges analyzing data, exploring the newest innovative technology options in the Generative AI space and working with our amazing Beta testers. Timing was perfect as Generative AI was just taking the world by storm and we were ready to jump! I’m excited to see where Genie will continue to go in the future. - What is something unique about you (a fun fact) that few people know about?
I have an identical twin sister and we have sibling dogs.
