Gartner Research Names Discuss.io a 2016 “Cool Vendor” in Market Research1
SEATTLE, APRIL 25, 2016 – Discuss.io, an innovator in webcam-based market research, today announced that the information technology research firm Gartner has named it a Market Research “Cool Vendor” for 2016.
Discuss.io works with modern web browsers and webcams, anywhere that broadband internet is. Discuss.io delivers recruitment, interview sessions, and transcribed records, in as few as 48 hours.
Commenting on Gartner’s recognition, Discuss.io founder and CEO Zach Simmons said, “We believe our platform was selected because it’s purpose-built for Agile brand research: more panelists, more tools, less time, and less money than our competitors. There’s no comparison between our offering and traditional market research.”
Traditional market research relies upon outdated technology: panelists and researchers are required to travel to specifically-tooled facilities, data collection methods are often analog, delivery of research can fall within a range of many weeks or even months, and overall costs can run into tens of thousands of dollars for limited gains.
Discuss.io’s disruptive business model has been nurtured by the needs of global brands: with markets volatile and demand fragile worldwide, brands need digital agility to adapt and innovate under pressure. The need to attain accurate and Agile consumer insights increases as customer needs require businesses to move faster than ever before.
AT&T, Consumer Reports, Logitech, and brands from the Unilever family are among Discuss.io’s clients.
Zach Simmons is the founder and CEO of Discuss.io. A former Amazon Web Services product manager, Simmons brought newer web technologies to bear on the problems of market research.
Since its founding in 2012, Discuss.io has expanded rapidly, and this year doubled its rate of growth from 20% to 40%. Recent funding amounted to $1.4 million, and further increased the Seattle start-up’s operational reach.
